Design & Art showcase June 25 to July 3, 2022

What do Botticelli’s flowers, an eco-mattress and a Ticino rubbish sack have in common? They can all be seen at the Design & Art exhibition at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts:

Around 200 theses by design, film and art students will be shown at the public exhibition. The exhibition will take place from June 24th to July 3rd, 2022 at the university location 745 Viscosistadt in Lucerne-Emmenbrücke. The 23 prospective graduates of the Master of Arts will also be exhibiting their works on June 18th and 19th and from June 23rd to 26th in Brunnen SZ.

For the first time, the exhibition in Lucerne-Emmenbrücke is completely analogue. For the last two years it has been running online or as an exhibition with restricted access due to the corona virus. “This is the crowning glory for our students,” says Jacqueline Holzer, Director of the Design & Art Department. “Your thesis is the calling card for a career as a filmmaker, textile designer or artist. I am therefore very pleased that they are able to show their skills to a large local audience.”

The bachelor’s and master’s theses on display are extremely broad, as the exhibition director Ursula Bachman explains:

“Many of the works revolve around sustainability, flight and migration or health – all topics that concern society as a whole and that our graduates from from an unfamiliar perspective.”
