Is there a “black swan” flying over the NFT markets?

The NFT thingy is starting to burst.

Years of zero interest rates in the US would have damaged the American economy and created speculative bubbles like Bitcoin. Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of the book “The Black Swan,” said Thursday in a CNBC interview.

“We lived in a kind of Disneyland for almost 15 years, which basically destroyed the economic structure. Imagine that: no interest rates …”

Taleb continued.

Previously, he called the cryptocurrency a “superfluous product of low interest rates” and likened it to a “contagious disease”.

The world-renowned scientist Nassim Nicholas Taleb deals with the methods of calculating and interpreting random events and dealing with unforeseen, rare but powerful events (which he calls “black swans”). In 2007 it was falling US real estate prices that caused a major crisis and in 2022 it is now rising interest rates worldwide that could drastically shake up the financial markets. A collapse of the NFT markets could be a beginning and portent for this.
